Twinkle Design Studio is an ever changing studio! Now under the umbrella of Twinkle Design Studio we have: Dabble Homesewn Goodies™ {homesewn goodies and fabrics galore}, Tangled Noggins™ {crochet and knit goodies}, and Smitten Stationery™  {custom stationery designs for all occasions}.  News just in! This upcoming 2012 I am launching in January  an online gallery and storefront where you can buy an item already made or place an order for a custom made item! Sounds exciting and confusing!! I still have a few details to work out but that is underway. I think this will be a big year! I am even looking around for a little extra help! hobbies to love

My sewing & blogging over the last 6 months has taken a backseat to a few new and fab hobbies!

{ The first } obsessing over getting my little ones {and myself} settled and adjusted to living in "The Queen City"! Well that is going great, Charlotte NC is a great place to live with great people to meet and be around {I mentioned my awesome neighbors in an earlier post}... We are having so much fun meeting new friends and getting to know people. I still have to chill a little with the NY snarky attitude but I think it is dwindling, only to rear its ugly head when I am stressed and rushing! "Slow down, enjoy" is my new mantra.

{ The second }  my latest love to ... crochet! I have been having a blast whipping up some cute hats, a shawl and other little goodies { in the works: a rose granny square afgan for Ellie's room, turkey hats for the kids for Thanksgiving, Christmas hats, socks, mittens!} Here are a couple examples:
**note the adorable models

Ellie {my sweet baby girl}

Maddy {our delightful neighbor}

 {The third }  still Pinterest! Sometimes I will just loose time on there. I really am becoming somewhat obsessed with it. I can put everything I want to do, go, eat, try, make and see in one place! I never realized how much I want to do, go, eat, try, make and see! and I keep finding more!

Falling short

OK so I haven't been the best at my blogging eek! but my computer was down for about 3 weeks & the kids have kept me running this summer! I am now settling into a routine {finally} with the kiddies, Matthew started school and Ellie is finding her napping schedule {I wish she slept longer} so all is well in the world of us! ... and my blogging/sewing/creative alter ego will be back on track!! Oh how I miss the old girl! I have been keeping in touch from my phone and pinning on my newest obsession Pinterest! I love it and am totally obsessed with scrolling through and keeping all the good stuff I find on the internet in one place. If you haven't already you need to check Pinterest out! ... More news: I am going to be a guest blogger on a wonderful website Maubys, more on that coming soon... In the next few weeks I will have the link to my guest blogging, links to free DIY projects and fresh new photos of Dabble's goodies!! Looking forward to it! Can you believe the  holidays are just around the corner?! Oh dear time really does fly!

PS a sewing room update: I have not made strides in my sewing room {surprise, what have I been doing?} it still looks like this:

but soon will look more like this:

diggin' in

Well the move is done... phew! We are getting settled, meeting our {super nice} neighbors and learning the area {love it}. In the mix of it I dusted off my sewing machines, cut some fabric and am getting back to creating. Just getting out the fabric, looking through notions and getting that creative excitement makes me feel back to myself after a baby and a huge move!! The first on the "must do" list: Get the sewing room set up!! The plan is a trip to ikea and some fabric, paint + elbow grease!! Here's what I want it to look like...

this...or
this!

So I am getting to it!! I'll start with some before pics and keep posting the progress!

inspiration + new projects ideas!!

My friend Kristin {a crafty girl herself} has a crafty mom that has totally inspired me!! She made, knitted by hand, for her granddaughters, dolls that might just be the cutest darn things I have seen! ... and since we are having baby girl I decided to try my hat at making rag dolls, so I looked up a few tutorials online and my mom picked me up a couple lil' books I just love!! I looked through the books and tutorials and taught myself how to make rag dolls!! LOVE them {pics coming next week}!! I am stuffing them as I type I was just so excited that I had to give kudos to Kristin + her mom for the inspiration!! Crafty friends inspire one another!

Introducing Dolly ... drum roll please

After some fun mistakes and tweeking I finally figured out how to put her all together. Now time to figure out how to make clothes for her and make some playmates... maybe Teddy {a little boy}?
