selfish acts of sewing

I have recently fallen in love with Lola Pink Fabrics and their fantastic customer service!! Last week I saw on their facebook page Heather Bailey fabric wason sale {that's what I said sale!!} so I purchased a few yards from Janet and Jennifer. The fabric came so fast I couldn't believe it! I had a few kinks in ordering but the ladies worked it out and it didn't even cause a bump in the road! So I decided to make myself s few fun things for my upcoming vacation in West Hampton Beach!! Here is what I made...

This is a fun tunic made with Heather Bailey's Nicey Jane and some frilly fun notions!! I can't wait to sport on the beach... even if it slightly reminds me of Mrs. Furly, she was a cool chick anyway!!

This is my new super comfy skirt made with more of the fantastic Nicey Jane fabrics! So easy to pull on and hang around the deck in!

Every homemaking cutie needs a new apron so here is mine! I made a custom apron for a client and decided I loved it and needed one for myself!! Made with Heather Bailey Nicey Jane!!

And lastly viola a half apron made with Amy Butler's Love fabrics. I brought this one over to the ladies at Wild Sage for sale!! At least I didn't keep everything ; )

ta ta for now...

Fun new this and thats

This little number I fashioned up for a BBQ on the 4th of July! I love it so much and think it is just darling that I decided to make it into a pattern! The top is a tunic that flares a little and is shirred on the back for a comfy fit! So fun for the 4th {and Memorial and Labor days too!} I am thinking it will be really cute in some other fun fabrics!

Below is my newest apron design {inspired by the tunic above} I really think you will feel super pretty around the kitchen in this little number! More of these to come along with new downloadable pdf patterns!!

Hope you are enjoying the lazy days of summer!

Works in process

This week I have been challenging myself and developing new patterns... tunics, pillowcase dresses/shirts, skirts and dresses. I am all about running around town with my little boy in tow so I want fun, sassy, comfy clothes I can feel pretty in whether I am gardening or running my little man up to hockey. These are a few I have developed... more to come with help from my new serger {I can't believe I used to sew without one!} This week is all about more fun aprons for Wild Sage! I will post the frilly fun aprons... also if you want to choose your own fabrics stop in Wild Sage in Delmar and fill out a Customer Order form and I would love to sew it up for you ; )! ciao for now.

vintage dress form...

I have been searching + hoping for a dress form for a while now to make fitting easier and to see how dresses and skirts fall. Dress forms are a little pricey so I decided to search for a used one. Not having high hope I stumbled upon a vintage Acme dress form, perfect + beautiful! Meet Lexi Flowers {my 4 year old son named her}...
