Well then hello again!

Hello again it has been one long minute since my last blog. I have been learning loads about the business behind the craft and while this isn't my favorite (creating soothes my soul that IS my favorite) I discovered so many new I ways to get my creations out there. One is the fun Etsy site! I am soon opening an Etsy store with ready to buy goodies, orders and custom orders! The etsy store will be up and running in September! At the same time, September (when my kids go back to school) the pop up shops will start!! All around the Charlotte area my little boho gypsy style boutique will be traveling around bring some creations to you!! In the meantime here is a peak ...

the biggest compliment!!

Recently I was pleasantly surprised by a beautiful video made by on of my talented friend John Ficarrotta of Giovanni Films. I love to crochet and truly enjoy giving the pieces a new home and it is not often that I think of myself as talented and creative. It is a nice thing to be complimented especially from someone with his own unique talents! I truly appreciate the work that went into this video! Thank you John, you and Christine are a supportive and wonderful couple I am lucky to call my friends!

I have a friend who loves Clemson so I whipped up a special hat for him to show his collegiate spirit! and it got my brain twirling I love college football and USC and since I had made a Clemson hat I better get that GAMECOCK hat started! So here is the Clemson for viewing and my Gamecocks hat will have it own post because. Can you tell who I favor!?

The South is Closed y'all!!

This past week the South got a huge snowstorm! It was fun, magical and shut the area down! We had more than a blast sledding, shoveling and of course crafting!! Here is a look back at our snowcation!

Valentines day is right around the corner and I have made some cute heart garland, pretty cowls and started spring crochet!! And most exciting of all we have a new fily member coming in march!!

For the past week I have been completing orders and taking orders! Yay I am super excited about the new web presence and am hoping the next round of hats brings in some more orders! I love a challenge  so bring it on! ... I had the best compliment last week from a sweet customer she told me should could feel the care in each hat! How sweet is that, I love that she felt it because I enjoy creating all of the hats and want them to have a special place and noggin to keep cozy! So she is my favorite customer and friend! I finally finished taking a few pictures and setting up a very small online store! Please visit Tangled Noggin to see what suits your fancy! There are a few pictures I plan to change weekly with new ideas and creations available for purchase and order! I am super excited about this and hope to find homes for all my hats/tutus/aprons/hair accessories!

I came across this quote this morning in my adventures of early morning internet surfing... "Your success and happiness lies in you. We have to try to relish every moment in health, happiness, sickness and sorrow and remember this is the one life you have been blessed with. So each day I will take one moment to be thankful for all that I have been blessed to see and experience {the love of my children, the warmth of the sun on my face} I will take one moment to be proud of all the obstacles I have overcome and I will look with excitement to the future and for all it holds. I will walk through my life with my eyes, my mind and my soul open to all this wonderful world has to offer!

Creating it all

When it comes to daily life, mine is not complete without some form of learning or experiencing a new creative outlet. My latest interest is photography. I got this awesome new camera and am obsessed with learning to use it. The Cannon 4Ti is so amazing I want to use it for taking lovely pics of my kids, my aprons, my hats, my skirts, my dog, heck even my garden {which is a work in progress}. I have signed up for a photography class so soon I will have pictures of all of my heart and hand made creations which will be up for order and purchase! That said I am off to tweak the site and look at my e learning assignments for my photo class! {I love online learning because even a stay at home kind of working mom can fit in a class here and there!!}

wherefore art thou?

Although for the past several months there has been no news from the "studio" I have still been creating/designing/crocheting/knitting. We are living in the Charlotte area and really getting settled. It was a tough transition but I am starting to love love the south. In finding my way building new friendships and maintaining old I have learned many lessons. The lessons don't all relate to sewing/crocheting/designing but lessons learned, some hard and some rewarding. My most valuable lesson is to stop trying to please others, do what makes me happy and don't feel guilty for it! I have learned to enjoy myself more this way. Like everybody else I have some great qualities that I am strengthening and some not so great qualities that I am working on. One of the better qualities about myself is my interest in trying new things and exploring possibilities. Which is a reason there is so many pieces to Twinkle Design Studio! On that thought over the next few months I plan to reorganize my "hobbies" and try to find a place to sell my goodies! Any and all suggestions are welcome! ... For now I must bid adieu

Holiday Fair a go go

Yesterday my neighbor hosted a vendor fair at her home here in NC and although we didn't have a crowd every second it was OK because I got to know a few wonderful ladies and had a blast chatting. The gals and I showed our stuff and sold some goodies to a few sweet neighbors and friends that stopped in to support us. Thank you to my friends and neighbors for the support.

I set up early and once the day had started I got all caught up in meeting, greeting, chatting and looking that I did not get any shots of the pretty jewels, Thirty One fun, homemade sugar scrubs or tupperware! Day by Day Mantra

Haven't posted in a while. Today I am working on dresses, aprons and hair bows for an upcoming event in the fall. While sorting through fabrics and organizing notions I was doing a little thinking. I have been committing myself to quite a few things lately and not following through, this does not make me feel good. In realizing this I decided to take a step back and really think about why? Now it isn't like I am busier than the average stay at home mom, in fact it may be the opposite, my kids are good kids they play and cooperate {for the most part} and give me time to do "me" so what is my problem? It is definitely not the idea {I sometimes think I have to many spinning around my head at one time} it is the execution. So how do I fix this? I am going to take some advise from one my favorite presidents Abraham Lincoln "I do the very best I know how, the very best I can, and I mean to keep on doing so until the end". This will be my new mantra.

Opportunity knocking...

The studio tides are changing! I have recently be offered an awesome opportunity to start a new venture which means my endeavors will be totally streamlined and my focus will change! This should all be happening by the end of the week! I am excited and a little nervous at the same time! I''l tune you in... if I don't get cold feet ; )!
